Qld Independent Secondary Schools Netball Competition

In the first week of the school holidays, St Columban’s took 10 of our best netballers away to Brisbane for the annual Qld Independent Secondary Schools Netball (QISSN) competition. QISSN is an elite level netball competition with school teams from all over QLD competing for top honours. The girls performed admirably across the 5 days of competition and finished 9th overall out of 48 teams in the competition. Outstanding teamwork and skill were demonstrated by all of the girls and we are so proud of the way they represented themselves and St Columban’s throughout the whole week! Special thanks to Mel Hammond who has coached the girls throughout the year, and to Krissy Parker and Samantha Chapple who were managers of the team for the week and worked tirelessly throughout to look after all of us!

Congratulations to our outgoing seniors of the team for their wonderful efforts over the years and their dedication to the competition; Ashlyn Evans, Claudia Chapple, Britt Nolan and Chontaine Gargan. Also congratulations to our continuing players from Year 11, 10 and 9 who will no doubt carry on the mantle into the future; Haylee Crotty, Stephanie Hudson, Liana Kerr, Nicole Guenther, Brooke Pleming and Jenaya Graham.
